Students will be able to create and produce high quality illustrations for different purposes and genres. They will learn the different techniques and methodologies and they will work with the specific software for this aim.

What will I learn?

The orientation of these teachings is primarily practical and professionalizing. Over the course of the two programs that make up the cycle, the subjects taught prepare students to work as graphic designers both within a company and as independent professionals.

Visual expression and representation: basis.

First Year Course / 9 hours per week.

The purpose of this subject is to develop student’s creativity through different processes, graphic elements, tools and methodologies.

Typography

1st Year Course / 4 hours per week.

2nd Year Course / 4 hours per week.

Focus on typography, students will learn about different styles, types and shapes, and they will be able to choose the most suitable typography for each message and communicative situation. They will design and create their own typography.

DIGITAL SKILLS

Course 1 / 5 hours per week.

Students will learn how to use the specific software  to develop graphic projects as it is done in real life.

Graphic communication: its history.

First Year Course / 3 hours per week

Practice must be complemented with theory and knowledge of history, in order to obtain the essential background to become a good professional in this area.

IMAGE THEORY

1st year course / 2 hours per week

During this course, students will study how perception could affect what we see, think and feel. They will analyze the image as an element of communication and expression.

Advertising and marketing: theories.

Second year course / 5 hours per week

To study and to know what makes a brand succeed is an essential part for every professional in this area. In this subject, students will learn to design and set up strategies to achieve the success through the analysis of trends, values, markets, types of products and social media, among others.

Graphic design: basis

Course 1st / 4 hours per week

This subject focuses on the different uses of graphic design. They will learn to decide and make good decisions according to specific elements from visual language. They will create projects having into account their different communicative aims and functional purposes.

Projects

Course 1 / 4 hours per week.

Course 2 / 8 hours per week

This subject will make students develop real projects dealing with the different tasks: communication, creation of a logo, design of advertisement campaign and advertising elements, etc. They will work both online and offline design depending on specific purposes.

Photography

1st Course / 2 hours per week

2nd Course / 4 hours per week

This subject focuses on advertising photography and its techniques and how the light and the visual composition affect the design. Besides, they will learn to edit images and photographs for a specific purpose (publicity, graphic design, etc.).

Visual language and technology

1 st Course / 2 hours per weeks

2nd Course / 5 hours per weeks

The basis of audiovisual language will be analyzed in this course. Students will understand how it can affect publicity and how it can be used depending on the objective. Technology is a key aspect in this course so that sound, music, video… are studied.

I CAN CONTINUE MY STUDIES.

Once the cycle is completed, you will obtain a Higher Technician diploma in Advertising Graphics, which provides access to other training courses, degrees, or higher-level qualifications. The preferential access applies to related degrees and higher-level studies, including Higher Graphic Design Studies, Fine Arts, Art History, Audiovisual Communication, Journalism, Advertising, and Training Cycles in Illustration and Photography.
